Investigators with the Durham Police Department arrested 32-year-old Marshall Maurice Frazier of Crowell Street and charged him with murder in the June 4, 2009 death of 25-year-old Thomas Spruill.
Three years ago, officers were called about a shooting in the 1000 block of Fargo Street around 1:49 a.m. When they arrived, they found Spruill, who had been shot to death inside a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said Spruill and Frazier were acquaintances and the shooting was not a random incident.
According to police, Frazier is also facing several charges from 2011 that include, two counts of possession of cocaine with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver, two counts of sale of cocaine, two counts of delivery of cocaine and two counts of maintaining a dwelling and/or vehicle for the sale or delivery of controlled substances. He was also issued an outstanding citation for failure to vaccinate a dog or cat.
Frazier was placed in Durham County Jail without bond.
