NCHP: Driver in crash going at least 100mph

RALEIGH, N.C.

Troopers said 24-year-old Patrick Raymond Lee was driving east an "excessive speed" on I-540 between Six Forks Road and Falls of Neuse Road.

Troopers estimated he was travelling at least 100 mph.

Lee lost control of his 1990 Nissan 300ZX and the car went off of the right side of the highway and in to a guardrail. The sports car overturned and Lee was partially ejected from the Nissan.

Troopers said Lee was wearing his seatbelt, but the crash was so violent that the driver was ejected from his seat. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
