Authorities have charged 31-year-old John Wright II of Knightdale with statutory rape of a 14 year old.
According to arrest warrants, Wright worked at Body of Christ Church and was taken into custody Thursday.
Wright was also charged with two counts of giving alcohol to a minor.
The pastor of the Body of Christ Church would not comment on Wright's arrest, but did tell ABC11 that the incident did not happen at the church and that he did not know if the victim was part of the church community.
Further details about the incident have not been released.
Wright is currently being held at the Wake County Jail under a $500,000 bond.
