Officials arrested 23-year-old Daniel Sosa, of Smithfield, Sunday. He is charged with felony child abduction.
Police said the victim voluntarily left her home with Sosa on Oct. 29. According to police, when the girl tried to leave, Sosa refused to let her go.
The victim was able to get help on Saturday and a sheriff's deputy found her. She was returned to her family unharmed.
Sosa is being held in the Johnston County jail under a $300,000 bond. Officials said more charges are pending.
It is unclear how Sosa and the juvenile victim knew one another.
According to the NC Sex Offender Registry, Sosa was convicted in December 2008 for kidnapping and taking indecent liberties with a minor. He was released from prison in March 2011.
