N.C. Central held a Veterans Day ceremony and a grand opening of the center together Monday.
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund provided a grant of more than $18,000 to help establish the center.
NCCU veterans coordinator Tomeka Davis says a campus is unfamiliar territory for many veterans, who are accustomed to a structured environment. She says that's often the opposite of what happens in a college classroom.
