Police said a masked suspect entered the Sweepstakes Parlor on NC 55 just before 8 a.m.
The surveillance camera captured two individuals struggling and a gun was produced, but officials have not said if the gun belonged to the suspect or the store clerk.
The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
While police were on scene investigating, they saw a man come out of the nearby woods in his underwear. Police took the man into custody, but because he didn't match the description of the robbery suspect, he was released.
Investigators said the store clerk and the video could not identify the man. The detained individual did not have any cash on him.
