Shooting at Durham flea market investigated

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the Durham Green Flea Market shortly after 1 p.m.

When they arrived, they found a 19-year-old male who had been shot multiple times and a 31-year-old male who had been shot in the leg. Both were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police said they were father and son.

According to witnesses, the younger victim was involved in a verbal altercation with several males when shots were fired.

"All of a sudden we heard seven to eight gunshots it was like really fast, I thought it was fireworks or something and I just heard screaming and everyone was running. I was scared," vendor Gabriela Mancilla said.

Police said the suspects may have fled in a red, four-door sedan.

No charges have been filed.
