The accident happened around 2:49 a.m. at the intersection of McArthur Road and Center Street.
Authorities said 48-year-old Michael Malabre of 1137 Palm Springs Drive was pushing his older model Ford Explorer off of the road when a 2013 Hyundai hit him and his SUV. Malabre's SUV had reportedly run out of gas.
The driver of the Hyundai, 31-year-old Bennie Campbell of 1592 Eureka Avenue, stopped and called 911 about the accident.
Campbell is facing charges in connection with the accident. Further details about the incident have not been released.
