Detectives arrested 58-year-old Rebecca Ferrer of Reno Drive in Fayetteville Wednesday and charged her with caring for the minor in the same home as her husband, who is a registered sex offender.
Ferrer told authorities that she was aware that her husband, 58-year-old Manuel Ferrer, had a prior conviction for a sex offense in New Jersey.
An investigation revealed that between 2003 and 2012, the minor moved in and out of the couple's home several times. The girl claimed she was abused for nearly a decade by Manuel Ferrer, according to authorities.
They said she also alleged that Ferrer and her husband told her to hide when deputies were at their home conducting compliance checks.
Manuel Ferrer was arrested on Dec. 4 on 22 felony abuse charges. He is being held in jail under a $1.4 million bond.
Meanwhile, Rebecca Ferrer has been released from the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $3,000 bond.
