The chase started at a Dick's Sporting Goods store in Knightdale, near Interstate 540.
Knightdale's police chief told ABC11 that an on-duty officer going into the Dick's spotted three men coming out of the store with six jackets, which they allegedly hadn't paid for.
That officer was nearly hit by a van as the suspects fled the scene.
Knightdale and Raleigh police along with Wake County Sheriff deputies gave chase for eight to ten miles before the suspects voluntarily pulled over in an empty parking lot off of Corporation Drive in Raleigh. It is unknown if the chase attained high speeds.
Two of the suspects are believed to be juveniles. The age of the van's driver is still undetermined.
Charges are pending.
No one was injured during the chase.
