Police investigate kidnapping in Durham

DURHAM

A Durham police spokesperson said the unidentified woman was kidnapped at gunpoint while stopped in traffic in the 800 block of Ninth Street in Durham. It happened around 1:20 p.m.

The woman was driven to several ATMs to withdraw money.

The suspect then got out of the car behind businesses at the intersection of University Drive and Shannon Road and ran away.

Police are still looking for the suspect. He is described as a black male with a light complexion wearing black pants, a black and red hoodie and gloves.

The victim was not injured.
