Authorities said the chase began in Granville County when a Stem police officer tried to pull over a 2002 silver Cadillac for speeding on Old Oxford Highway.
The chase ensued southbound with speeds topping 90 mph around 11 p.m.
The police officer was able to get the driver to pull over just before the Durham County line. When the officer told the driver to show his hands and get out of the car, the driver refused and took off again.
The chase ended after a half hour near Old Oxford Road and Snow Hill Road in Durham. Officials said the driver crossed the center lane, ran off the road, hit a utility pole, and overturned.
The driver and two passengers were all trapped inside the car and had to be cut out. Two were taken to Duke Medical Center and one to Durham Regional, but all injuries were minor.
Troopers charged the driver with driving while impaired. Police said all three will face felony charges, including eluding authorities.
