Sheriff Williams said the shooting happened around 11:15 a.m. Sunday, and was apparently the result of an argument.
The dead man was identified as 42-year-old Edward Richardson.
The sheriff identified the alleged shooter as Richardson's first cousin Stanley Richardson Jr., but said he had not been arrested.
Deputies planned to confer with the District Attorney before deciding how to proceed on any charges.
