Investigators said the 18 wheeler was making a right turn on Cedar Creek Road when the truck tried to avoid it and rammed a power pole.
The driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital. Utility workers replaced the power pole.
The incident backed up traffic for a time. The driver of the larger truck was not hurt.
