Wedjunald Gemeille was arrested Sunday and charged with first-degree murder.

Investigators spent the day asking Irby's neighbors what they heard or saw.

"Ever since 10 this morning we've seen cop cars surrounding the area, we've seen them taping the place off," neighbor Jonathan Gray said.

Chris Spain lives in a nearby unit and said officers went door to door looking for clues.

"Probably around 10:30 an officer came knocking on my door asked me if I knew anything I said I hadn't heard anything, he didn't say anything about gun shots he asked did you hear any screaming or shouting and we said no," Spain said.

One neighbor told ABC11 that an officer implied there may have been some type of dispute with a knife.

Police also taped off a second crime scene at the Fountain of Raleigh church. An area around a car was taped off Sunday night, but police have not said if the two scenes are related.

According to police, Gemielle and Irby knew each other, but officials did not elaborate on their relationship.

Gemielle is being held without bond at the Wake County Jail. He will make his first court appearance Tuesday.
