USAir flight 3583 departed the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport at 6:54 a.m., but had to turn around after a windshield heat sensor indicated a problem.
The plane arrived back at DCA at 7:19 a.m. It was originally scheduled to land at RDU at 7:40. a.m.
USAir said it turned out the windshield heat sensor was faulty.
