Authorities were called to the home after receiving a call about shots fired at the location.
When deputies arrived, they found 65-year-old Ashby Ellis Silver, Jr. discharging a weapon outside the home.
A deputy returned fire and shot Silver, who suffered non-life threatening injuries. He is now in custody.
The deputies were not injured.
Silver faces three counts of assault on a government official with a firearm and one count of firing off a gun within 300 feet of a residence.
The State Bureau of Investigation is now investigating, which is standard procedure in an officer-involved shooting.
