Pearlie Johnson was last seen using an ATM near N.C. State in early February, according to her family. Since then, there has been no sign of the 65 year old.
"They said the hair was in braids tied back and that's something else that mama doesn't do," George O'Briant said.
O'Briant said that's unlike his mother because she always wears her hair down.
O'Briant last talked to his mother on Feb. 2 and he said his sister spoke to her Feb. 5.
Police issued a Silver Alert for the woman last week. She may be experiencing an onset of dementia, according to police.
However, O'Briant said his mother is in perfect health.
Johnson is 5 feet 4 inches tall, 110 pounds, and has shoulder-length brown hair.
Loved ones describe Johnson as an active, independent, and soft spoken woman. They said she doesn't drive, but would often take the bus from a Durham depot.
The family is pleading for anyone who sees Johnson to help return her home safely.
"If anyone would have any information on our mom to please contact authorities as soon as possible without hesitation," O'Briant said.
Anyone with information on Ms. Johnson's whereabouts is asked to call Investigator West at (919) 560-4440, ext. 29341 or the Police Department's front desk at (919) 560-4427.
