The ABC11 weather team says most areas will pick up between 0.50 and 1.00 inch of rainfall through Friday morning as a low pressure center passes just to the south and east of the Triangle.

There have also been reports of sleet in some areas.

The rain should stop from south to north late Thursday into Friday morning. By sunrise Friday, clouds should begin to gradually clear and temperatures should rebound to the upper 50s in the Triangle.

The good news is temperatures will finally rise nicely in time for the weekend as high pressure builds into the area from the west. High temperatures are expected to reach the 70s by Sunday and Monday with a good deal of sunshine each day.

It will warm close to 80 degrees by Tuesday with the nice weather persisting right into the middle of the week.
