Garner shooting victim dies

GARNER, N.C.

Kyevon Diates Frazzell Gayles, 35, passed away at WakeMed on Monday.

Garner police said this case is their top priority. Police told ABC11 that they do have a person of interest in the case.

Immediately after the shooting, police said they were looking for a black male seen leaving the area. He was described as approximately 6 feet tall, average build, wearing a white ball cap with black brim, white T-shirt, and black shorts. He had a goatee and dark complexion.

Police were also looking for a white Nissan Altima or Maxima sedan seen leaving the area after the shooting. The vehicle is described as a newer model Nissan with no known after-market accessories.

Even though they have a person of interest, police are still asking anyone with information to contact them at (919) 772-8810.

Gayles was from Jacksonville. Police say they're not sure if he even declared residency in Wake County before he was shot.
