On Oct. 20, police responded to a shooting at the Campus Crossings apartment complex. Police found 23-year-old Demario Lucas, of Durham lying in a breezeway. He had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second man was taken to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the ankle.
The shooting apparently occurred during an argument at a party, according to investigators.
Police arrested 18-year-old Montreal Malik Russell Thursday and charged him with murder. Russell was arrested at the Wake Inn in Raleigh.
