Three hurt in shooting at Boom Boom Room nightclub

FAYETTEVILLE

It happened around 1:25 a.m. at the Boom Boom Room nightclub in the 100 block of S. Eastern Boulevard.

Police say that prior to the shooting; a physical disturbance occurred inside of the nightclub and resulted in the person being kicked out.

Lorenzo Shepherd, 25, was allowed to reenter the nightclub a short time later and started arguing with an unknown black male. During the altercation, an unknown person fired a gun inside of the nightclub and shot Shepherd.

Police say Shepherd, 23-year-old Shenequa McMillian, and 17-year-old Janielle Elliott were hurt in the shooting.

Shepherd and Elliott were both transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where Shepherd is listed in stable condition, but Elliott's condition remains critical. McMillian was taken to Southeastern Medical Center in Lumberton and is listed in stable condition.
