It happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 70 Business and the 70 Bypass just east of Clayton.
Troopers say the woman got into some sort of argument and jumped from a vehicle. She was taken to WakeMed with non life-threatening injuries.
The road was shut down for about 30 minutes while troopers investigated.
They say no charges will be filed.
