Police say it happened around 3:52 p.m. at the intersection of Lawson and Bacon Streets in Durham.

According to police, a Honda Passport ran a red light and struck the bus. The SUV then overturned, and hit a utility pole.
The 31 students on the bus were from Pearsontown and Burton Elementary Schools.
At least three children on the bus suffered minor injuries.
The remaining students were moved to a second bus and taken home.
