Brandon Terry faces child abuse charges.
Police say they showed up at his Raleigh home on Tuesday to check on an EMS call and found the child in the care of emergency workers.
The baby was taken by ambulance to WakeMed and later transferred to Duke.
After a follow-up investigation, police say probable cause led to the arrest.
