Detectives have been checking out an area along the Cape Fear River for 50-year-old Joey Von Cannon.
They say Von Cannon did not return home after planning to spend Sunday afternoon on the river.
Detectives found his vehicle at a boat ramp off in the 4100 block of Chipstead Drive.

They also found his jet ski about a quarter mile down the river from where his vehicle was found, but so far there's no sign of Von Cannon.
