Shots fired outside Durham's Northgate Mall

DURHAM

No one was hurt, but shots were fired outside the mall.

Police said three people were taken in custody.

Devonte Keith, 20, of Glenbrook Drive, was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, discharging a firearm within the city limits, carrying a concealed weapon, going armed to the terror of the public and resisting, delaying and obstructing an officer.

Two other men – 19-year-old Alvis Gentry and 27-year-old Gerald Melvin – were arrested on outstanding warrants.

Witnesses said some shoppers dove for cover. One car was hit by bullets.
