Car plows into Fayetteville apartment, nearly hitting couple
FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- A Fort Bragg soldier and his pregnant wife were sleeping inside their Fayetteville apartment late Thursday night when a car plowed into it, nearly hitting the couple.
It happened at the Barrington Place Apartments, formerly known as the Cambridge Arms Apartments, on Barcelona Drive.
Police at the scene told ABC11 that the driver of the car had a medical problem and hit another car before crashing into the ground floor apartment.
The driver was taken to the hospital. There's no word yet on his or her condition.
The couple inside the apartment was not injured, but their home is now uninhabitable.
"We were laying in bed, getting ready to go to sleep ... didn't hit us, thankful for that," the soldier said.
The couple is being moved to another apartment.
