Man found dead behind Spring Lake apartment identified

SPRING LAKE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Spring Lake police are investigating after a man was found shot to death Saturday afternoon behind an apartment complex.

Officers responded around 2:30 p.m. to the 1300 block of King Street.

Police said the victim was found near the fence line in the back of the building. According to authorities, it appears he was shot at a different location and his body was taken to the vacant apartment building.

On Sunday, authorities identified the victim as Devante Saquan Tart, 24, of Dunn.

No word yet on any suspects.
