CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Publix Super Markets said Tuesday that it will purchase two closed and vacant Lowes Foods stores in North Carolina - including one at 3480 Kildaire Farm Road in Cary.
It will be the second Cary location for the Florida-based chain which has begun expanding into North Carolina.
The second location to be purchased is in Gastonia. The corporation said it expects to close on the properties later this month.
"We've opened eight stores in North Carolina within the past year, solidifying our commitment to growth within the state," said Publix CEO Ed Crenshaw.
