DURHAM (WTVD) -- Officials said no one was injured after a car got wedged underneath an 18-wheeler along Interstate 40 Friday morning.

It happened around 6 a.m. near NC-55 at exit 278.

The vehicle got trapped under the tractor trailer after trying to make a lane change, according to witnesses.

The accident blocked two of the three westbound lanes of I-40 near the Barbee Road bridge in Durham for over an hour as officials worked to clear the scene.

All three people inside the car were not injured; the driver of the truck was also not hurt.

Durham police are investigating the accident.
