RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Residents of the Granite Ridge subdivision south of I-40 along South Gate Drive woke to find many of their cars damaged by vandals Monday morning.

Police were investigating to see exactly how many vehicles were involved.

Most of the cars and SUVs were covered in white spray-paint.

In many cases, it appeared the vandals attempted to draw human genitalia in paint.

Some residents were using solvent and cleaning cloths to try to get the paint off when an ABC11 crew visited the neighborhood Monday morning.

Anyone with information on who might have been responsible is asked to call the Raleigh Police Department CrimeStoppers line at (919) 834-HELP.
