Man assaulted in Cary robbery
Police called to Wisdom Drive in Cary Monday night

CARY (WTVD) -- The Cary Police Department is looking for the four it says is men responsible for robbing and assaulting a man at the Amberton at Stonewater apartments Sunday night.

The incident was reported around 9:30 p.m. on Wisdom Drive.

Brandon Hilder lives in the complex and said he heard some commotion.

"I remember hearing this yelling and running," he said. "The stomps are very loud here. I didn't think much of it."

But the Cary Police Department said four armed men pistol whipped a man as he was walking to his apartment. They then took off with his cash.

The victim was hospitalized and released last night with non-life threatening injuries.

It's leaving some neighbors like Hilder uneasy.

"A little frightening," he said. "You think about it too hard and you go, 'Wow I wanna pick up and move tomorrow.' The other thought is it could happen anywhere."

The investigation continues. If you have any information, you are asked to contact the Cary Police Department at (919) 469-4012.
