Wrong-way driver dies in crash on Highway 87 in Cumberland County

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A driver going the wrong way was killed Friday in a head-on crash on Highway 87 at Sandhill Road in the Grays Creek area.

The Honda was going the wrong way in the southbound lanes and ran head-on into an SUV.

The driver of the SUV was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The crash remains under investigation.
