Accident blocks part of Durham Freeway

DURHAM (WTVD) -- An accident blocked part of the Durham Freeway Thursday morning.

It happened just before 8 a.m. along northbound NC-147 at exit 5 in Durham.

Images from the scene showed a white SUV with front and rear damage, along with a church van on the side of the roadway.

It is unclear what caused the accident, or if anyone was hurt.

At one point, three of the four northbound lanes were closed just before the ramp to Interstate 40, as authorities worked to clear the scene.
