DURHAM (WTVD) -- A man wanted in Durham and Orange counties is in custody after an hours-long standoff in Durham Monday.
Linwood "Fred" Clay, 26, had been holed up in a house in the 800 block of Brye Street most of the afternoon. He surrendered to police shortly before 6 p.m.
No one was injured.
Clay is a registered sex offender with an extensive criminal record.
Most recently, he was wanted in connection with a Durham shooting in late January.
Clay was also wanted in Orange County for resisting, and delaying and obstructing officers. He was accused of running from court officers who tried to arrest him on Feb. 5.
A section of Brye Street was closed during the standoff.
