Soldier returns to surprise his daughter on Veterans Day

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- The City of Goldsboro held its annual Veterans Day parade Tuesday morning with many service members from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base participating.

However, it was also a special day for a 7-year-old girl who was also marching.

Staff Sgt. Robert Church surprised his daughter, whom he had not seen in at least 8 months due to his deployment, as she rode on one of the parade's floats.

"Best feeling in the world. She's crying, so she's good," Church said. "I'm crying too. You can't see it."
