FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- A woman's recent misfortune may serve as a reminder to others to always be aware of your surroundings and to guard your valuables. Theft can happen even when you are literally only a few feet away.
Fayetteville police are requesting the public's help identifying two suspects who stole that woman's purse out of her car Aug. 12 at a car wash.
The incident was captured on surveillance video. The woman was vacuuming her car in the 1100 block of Bragg Boulevard when a male reached into her car, picked up her purse and hopped into the getaway vehicle before she could react.
Only two suspects are clearly seen in the video, but police said a third suspect was inside the getaway car.
