Father, son shot to death in Durham
DURHAM (WTVD) -- The woman who found her two neighbors shot to death inside their home said she's terrified.
She made the discovery inside the small blue house where the father and son lived on the 3700 block of Angier Avenue. Homicide investigators from the Durham County Sheriff's Office spent Friday afternoon and evening combing for clues inside.
"So I opened the door, and that's when I saw them," the victim's friend said.
She chose not to share her name for fear the killer is still on the loose. But she described the grisly scene inside the house. "One (victim) was slumped over the bed and the other was laying on the floor."
The sheriff's office identified the victims as Dewayne Greer Sr., 51, and his 18-year-old son, Dewayne Greer Jr. Their neighbor said the two had lived next door for the past five months.
She said she found them dead in the home's bedroom. She entered the home after the father didn't show up for work, Friday. She said his boss feared the man had a health emergency. Deputies told ABC11 the call went out as a cardiac arrest.
"They were talking about cardiac arrest. I never said anything about cardiac arrest," the friend said. She was the one who called 911. "I mean there's bodies and we don't know why they're not moving ... The younger one, yeah you could definitely tell that he had been shot."

She said she believes the younger man was shot in the head. She says he had just visited her the night before about 9:30 p.m.
Now, he's the victim of a double homicide. Or what she's calling a murder mystery.
"I'm still terrified, still terrified," she said. "Because I have no idea why they done it. I mean I know them, they're nice people. I can't imagine wanting to hurt them."
Investigators are reviewing surveillance video from the Bilboa Food Mart, next door to the crime scene. The owner said they were looking for clues on who may have gone inside the home Thursday night.
The store's owner says he's convinced the crime happened after he closed Thursday night at 10 p.m.
