Gorman Street exit closing in I-40 construction zone

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Drivers may need to adjust their commute Friday morning in the I-40 construction zone.

The Department of Transportation plans to shut down the exit from I-40 westbound to Gorman Street Thursday night. That's between the Lake Wheeler Road and Jones Franklin Road exits.

The DOT will start closing the westbound ramp around 6 p.m. At 9 p.m., crews will put in concrete barriers.

The exit is expected to reopen in time for the Monday morning commute.
