Durham police officer arrested in Wake County

KNIGHTDALE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A domestic violence dispute sent a Durham police officer to the Wake County Jail.



James Cartwright, 41, is a corporal in the patrol division.



He was arrested late Tuesday night at his home near Knightdale.



Cartwright is charged with assault on a female and interfering with emergency communications.



Cartwright has been with the Durham Police Department since 1998.



At last check, he was on administrative leave with pay, which is standard procedure.
