Willow Spring man arrested, charged with second-degree murder

JOHNSTON COUNTY (WTVD) -- A Willow Spring man is behind bars after police said he's responsible for the death of an 18-year-old.

On Friday, deputies with the Johnston County Sheriff's Office arrested 24-year-old Joshua Novak and charged him with second-degree murder and distributing drugs.

His arrest came after an investigation into the death of 18-year-old Justin Bennett who died after ingesting heroin.

Detectives said they believe the drugs were distributed by Novak.
