RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Wake County based Kangaroo Express handed over a check for more than $1.5 million Sunday during the Capital City Bikefest in downtown Raleigh.
It was part of the convenience store chain's Salute Our Troops fundraising campaign.
The money goes to North Carolina groups, including the United States Veterans Corps and the USO.
Kangaroo Express and Ray Price Harley Davidson also presented a custom Harley motorcycle to Marine Corporal Ryan Wightman. He lost his left leg in combat.
He started college this fall and hopes one day to work in the prosthetics field.
ABC11 is a proud sponsor of the Capital City Bikefest.
