ZEBULON, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Carolina Mudcats are welcoming the Atlanta Braves back to the Research Triangle area as their new parent club.

Among the Braves' officials on hand Thursday afternoon at Five County Stadium in Zebulon for the news conference were team president John Schuerholtz, interim general manager John Hart, Hall of Fame manager Bobby Cox, current manager Fredi Gonzalez and senior vice president and CFO Chip Moore.

The Braves were once the parent club for the Durham Bulls before that team switched its affiliation to the Tampa Bay Rays and moved from Class A to Class Triple-A.
