DURHAM (WTVD) -- Veteran anchorman Larry Stogner has been a fixture in the Triangle for several decades; he retired after 39 years at ABC11 in 2015. When announcing his retirement, Larry also shared with his viewers and colleagues that he was battling ALS.
The News & Observer recently caught up with Larry, who answered some deeply personal questions with candor, class, and courage.
"I want [the viewers] to know I truly appreciate their concern. That while I can't move the way I used to, I'm still on my feet and in no pain. ALS just slowly robs one of their ability to use their muscles...and ultimately even breathe. That's the road I'm walking," Larry shared.
