KNIGHTDALE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Knightdale police continue their search for the driver of a white truck, possible a box truck, wanted after a hit and run early Friday morning.
The victim, 49-year-old Timothy Bullock, suffered a broken leg after that white truck struck his Nissan Altima and fled the scene.
"I don't understand how somebody could hit a person and not stop," the victim's niece, Adriana Bullock, told ABC11 on Saturday morning.
Colleen Utley is a friend of Timothy Bullock. She said he's been staying with her and her husband since moving out of Adriana's home.
"He had a big life ahead of him," Utley said. "He was planning to start work next week, which is null and void. He was in school, so everything is on hold. It's gonna be very hard for him."
Knightdale police say that truck they're after may have visible damage on the passenger side. Bullock's friends and family hope anyone who sees a a truck fitting that description will call the cops.
"Anybody who knows it, I would appreciate if you would please, at least, call and let us know who or anything, so we can find out exactly what happened and why," said Utley.
Adriana Bullock has spoken with her uncle while he recovers at WakeMed.
"He's kind of out of it right now, with all the medicines they're giving him for pain. We just want to know what happened, and we're just very happy and glad that he's alive, and able to talk."
Call Knightdale police if you've seen the truck, or have heard information that could lead to an arrest.
