RALEIGH -- Hours before Election Day, a new Quinnipiac University poll shows races couldn't be closer in North Carolina.
Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump 47 percent to 45 percent - well within the margin of error.
In North Carolina's Senate race, Senator Richard Burr and challenger Debora Ross are tied at 47 percent.
For governor, challenger Roy Cooper leads Governor Pat McCrory 50 to 47 - also within the 3.3 % margin of error.
"After hundreds of millions of dollars and untold man-hours, and woman-hours, of campaigning, it would be fitting if the entire country broke into a chorus of "It's beginning to look like 2000," in the two states that matter most - Florida and North Carolina," quipped Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.
