Raleigh buys flood-plagued motel along Capital Boulevard

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The City of Raleigh has completed the purchase of the flood-plagued Milner Inn in the 1800-block of Capital Boulevard.

The purchase price was $830,000.

The Milner Inn was one of four sites along Capital Boulevard damaged by flooding in August. At one point, some of the properties had water up to the door knobs on the first floor.

The purchase was funded by a grant from FEMA after a history of flooding at the location. Five vacant structures on the property will be demolished.
