Suspect arrested in Holly Springs bank robbery
HOLLY SPRINGS -- Police in Holly Springs have arrested a suspect in connection with a bank robbery Thursday morning.
It happened around 9:30 at PNC Bank at the intersection of Sunset Lake and Holly Springs roads.
Officials said a man walked to the bank counter and handed the clerk a note demanding money, before leaving with an undisclosed amount and driving away in a white sedan.
Mark Norman Kramer, 54, was arrested soon after the robbery, following a brief chase that began on TenTen and Bells Lake roads.
Authorities said Kramer jumped from the car and fled into woods off U.S. 401. A Holly Springs police K-9 unit tracked the suspect and took him into custody.
Money stolen during the robbery has been retrieved. No one was injured during the holdup and chase.
