Student dies after medical issue at football practice
An Orange County student died after suffering a medical issue at football practice

EFLAND, NC (WTVD) -- Orange County school district officials have confirmed that a rising 8th grader at Gravelly Hill Middle School in Efland has died.



Emergency workers were called to a school football practice Monday evening when Frederick Seymour - who was a player on the team - reportedly suffered from a severe asthma attack.

The boy reportedly suffered more complications on the way to the hospital and passed away Friday morning.



Grief counselors are at the school for students and staff. All extracurricular activities - including Friday night's scheduled football practice - have been cancelled.
